Title VI Students Clean Up Spanish Fork Trail

This past week, Nebo Title VI students spend their afternoon cleaning up garbage on the Spanish Fork Trail in honor of Earth Day. The trail is over a mile and a half in length and runs alongside a beautiful river. There are many trees and plants along the trail with many animals in their natural habitat. Hunderds of local residents use this trail on a daily basis, and spend their afternoons on the trail.

Rose Quintana was a recipient of a $10,000 grant from Dreamstater-Running Strong Foundation. She was in charge of this event and invited Nebo Title VI students and Braiden Weeks out to help clean up Spanish Fork's local trail. We had several families show up to help clean up the trail. Braiden Weeks, a staff member for Utah Dine Bikeyah joined our students and gave some great information about advocating for our environment. "Utah Dine Bikeyah is a non-profit organization that works toward the healing of people and the Earth by supporting indigenous communities in protecting their culturally significant, ancestral lands."
