Title VI Christmas Party 2019

Submitted by analysa.allison on

The Nebo Title VI Program hosts a Christmas Party each year. Our program provides the main dish which consists of ham and turkey. The families in this program are asked to bring side dishes and desserts to share. Each year, without fail there is always enough food to feed all the attendees. The love and support of the parents in this program is what makes this event so special and possible. I'd like to give a huge thank you to the Nebo Title VI Parent Committee and families for their continued involvement.

Each year, we typically have over 30 American Indian families join to celebrate Christmas. During the Christmas party, we usually start with holiday games, a potluck dinner, singing of Christmas carols, a Santa meet and greet, and end the night with a giveaway.

Our program is very fortunate to have two wonderful partnerships. Both partnerships allow the Nebo Title VI Program to provide stockings filled with gifts to each Title VI student. Each stocking is filled with candy, a stuffed animal, crayons, coloring books, gloves, beanies, etc. Another wonderful partnership is with the Running Strong Organization which provides a grant to allow us to provide a turkey dinner and coat/boot giveaway for each Title VI student.

On behalf of all the Nebo Title VI staff, I would like to say thank you to Adopt a Native Elder Program and the Running Strong Organization for providing such wonderful gifts during this holiday season. We are truly grateful for the love and support you have given the families in Nebo School District. All of the families who received gifts, food, and items of clothing were deeply grateful for your support and generosity.
