Malie is a graduating senior from Maple Mountain High. She is from the Lumbee tribe. Her friends and family would describe her as kind, funny, spontaneous, and creative. In her free time, she likes to cook and sew. Some words of advice she would like to give other students is from Cinderella, "Have courage and be kind."
She has been accepted to BYU, but will wait to start school as she recently started filling out her papers to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She hopes to start her mission in October of this year. She is the 2nd of 6 children. Some of the things that make Malie happy are thrifting, creating something new from her thrift finds, hanging out with friends, and driving around in her old jeep with the top down.
Malie recently gave an inspiring talk at our annual Leadership Celebration. We are so grateful she was willing to share their experiences and thoughts with administrators, counselors, and other Title VI students. Malie, congratulations on your upcoming graduation. We are so excited for you. You are a role model to your peers and classmates.
