Utah Energy Workforce Scholarship

Over the past two years the Governor's Office of Energy has partnered with Chevron to advance Utah’s energy workforce by providing 13 scholarships, totaling $48,000 to high school seniors who intend to pursue a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field of study or trade certification at a Utah institution of higher learning. This includes:

· Five $4,000 scholarships for students attending a Utah college or university
· Five $2,000 scholarships for students attending a Utah technical college

TO APPLY - Applicants must submit the following to OED's Energy Program Specialist, Kevin Brooks (kevinbrooks [at] utah.gov) by May 1, 2019:
· A five-minute informative original film on an energy resource found in Utah responsible for supporting local economies and powering our daily lives (smartphone filming guide attached)
· A short, 1-2 page essay on why they are passionate about energy, their STEM goals, and how the scholarship would help to support them.
