The Utah Department of Indian Affairs invited our performing arts group to attend American Indian Caucus Day at the Utah State Capitol. Our students have been diligently practicing a play called, "The Moccasin Shoe Game." This play was based on a Children's book entitled, "The Moccasin Show Game-Navajo Legend" written by Harold Casey Jr. Our students did an amazing job performing the play in front of tribal leaders, politicians, and the Utah Native American community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share our culture with others, and we are so proud of these children who are fearless about teaching others about the Navajo creation story.
