By teaching the five different types of wellness, spiritual, cultural, physical, mental, and environmental, Shakotah wants to help those in her community to recognize their Hozho. Her dream is to educate her community about using things such as food, exercise, and traditional medicine in order to live a healthier lifestyle.

Alfredo’s dream is to fight the invisibility and erasure of Indigenous people and their contributions to global society. His cultural and language programming through the Indian Education program will increase Native visibility in the Utah public school systems.

Sara’s dream is to engage urban Navajo youth in her community with traditional food systems and teach them how to use their cultural practices to address food security issues.
