Harvesting Field Trip

Submitted by analysa.allison on

We were able to take a family field trip to Eureka, Utah. While we were there we stopped at a local shop called, Crazy Mary's. Mary gave us a tour of her shop. She explained to us that she travels the world, and has met many people. Along her travels, she collects and trades for her unique inventory.
While on our harvesting field trip, we were to find a spot to harvest sage, Brigham tea, and juniper beads. Students are their families were able to pack their treasures in a ziplock bag and take them home. Eileen was able to share the traditional perspective of harvesting. She explained the timeline for when each item should be harvested and which areas are best to find those items.

The CLASP team was able to join us on this adventure and capture footage of the process. We are grateful for their willingness to partner with our program.
